Thank you for sharing the news, Richard. The boat looks small 'but He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' 2 Corinthians 12. Holding you both before the Lord in prayer. Much love from Geoff and Karen xx

Our Shepherd goes ahead of us and is always there to meet our every need as we walk our daily path.

One Friday, many years ago, I sat in an ordinary school assembly, led by a non Christian, who wasn’t aware that God was present that day (as He always was!)

We were taught the words and jolly tune,

If I go to the furthest( or maybe read darkest!) place I can go,

He’ll be there, He’ll be there.

To the East or the West, to the Sun or moon,

He will always be there

Oh yeah, oh yeah

He will never leave me.

I know He cares,

He’s the only one I know

Who’s ALWAYS there.

In the dark of the night or the light of day

He’ll be there, He’ll be there .

When I’m all alone or I’ve lost my way

He will always be there.

Oh yeah, oh yeah,

He will never leave me.

I KNOW He cares,

He’s the only one I know who’s ALWAYS there!

God had gone ahead of me that weekend. As I was plunged into the blackest, deepest, darkest pit, He was there and those words kept ringing in my ears!

Our God will be in every consultation and treatment room you enter this year.

I was reminded today, that as Christ provided bread and meat for the 5,000, as God provided food for Moses and then for Elisha, so He has said,

“I myself will tend my sheep and make them lie down …..I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak”

May you continue to know God’s nearness and provision as you walk this new road this year.

God bless you both

Richard and Anna, you will be in my prayers. A boat called 'Grace' ... what a message from above.

Having entered this very private space I feel constrained to quietly say that Gill and I stand with you both from afar (Perthshire) in the Lord's presence for a safe return from this 'unexpected journey' in the good ship Grace. These past few days I've often been in Isaiah 53 where He bears our 'griefs and sorrows/pains and sicknesses'.

(I was actually googling my Preston pastor/great grandfather Thomas's name when this blog appeared!)

Hello Ian, thank you so much for that, it's really appreciated by us both. How interesting that you should come across The Waiting Country in that way! My Dad was from Preston and we lived there during my latter teen years (during which time I went to Hutton Grammer School). Maybe we're related?? Btw, do feel free to subscribe to The Waiting Country if you'd like to do so, it's a weekly devotional piece that I write, usually of a less personal nature (albeit I'll include the occasional update on Anna's progress). All blessings, Richard.
